Stuart C. Kennedy, MD, FRACS
Dr. Kennedy is an orthopaedic surgeon who specialises in shoulder and upper limb surgery. He graduated from the University of Colorado School of Medicine with Honours and completed his Orthopaedic Residency at Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington D.C. He practiced general orthopaedics and sports medicine at Western Orthopaedics in Denver, Colorado as full partner before moving to Australia in 2004.
Dr. Kennedy is a Clinical Instructor at the University of NSW Medical School at Port Macquarie. He teaches and lectures regularly at local and international meetings.
Dr. Kennedy’s interests involve complex disorders of the shoulder; including arthroscopic treatment of rotator cuff disease and shoulder instability. He has performed over 1000 allarthroscopic rotator cuff repairs. He also performs shoulder arthroplasty including total shoulder replacements and reversed shoulder replacements.
Dr. Kennedy is an American Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon, Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Fellow of the Australian Orthopaedic Association, Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, and a member of the Australian Shoulder and Elbow Society.
Dr. Kennedy and his family have made Port Macquarie their home, enjoying the beachside lifestyle. He and his Family are members of the local surf lifesaving club, AFL, netball, soccer, and Pony Clubs. If he’s not working or with his Family, you’ll find him pedalling his bicycle!
